Stipes Report

The start of this race was delayed due to the course Farrier having to replace the right-front shoe on SHAMPOMPO SHAMPIZI (A Mgudlwa) at the start. Examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to race. 

THE STARTER REPORTED:  
a)	THE SHEPHERD (S Khumalo) was stubborn to load.
b)	MUTARAZI (*J Botes) and KYOMAI (S Moodley) lost 1 length.
  
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a)	As the start was effected Jockey S Khumalo attempted to hold onto the starting stall gates, and was dislodged from THE SHEPHERD. A race review was called into this incident by a member of the Stipendiary Board. After viewing the Patrol Film the Board was satisfied that this gelding had received a fair start and THE SHEPHERD was declared a runner.  Jockey S Khumalo was attended to by the on course Medics and was taken to the on course Medical centre for examination.  Due to Jockey Khumalo receiving medical attention he was unable to report to the Boardroom. Jockey Khumalo will be questioned regarding this incident.  
b)	Jockey Khumalo (THE SHEPHERD) was unable to weigh back in and in terms of Rule 66.2, his weight was deemed to be correct.
c)	COMMAND PILOT (K A Brewer) was hanging in, in the concluding stages.
d)	In view of the performance of MUTARAZI (*J Botes) (11.80 lengths, 33/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
e)	Apprentice J Botes (MUTARAZI) completed a satisfactory qualifying ride. 
f)	SHAMPOMPO SHAMPIZI (A Mgudlwa), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A Wright advised (SP).
JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES :
a)	KYOMAI raced fitted with a tongue tie (advised 05.08.2024/10h04).
b)	Jockey T Godden (PLAZA ACCORD) weighed out at 53.5kg, 0.5kg over the carded weight.

a)	MUTARAZI : Nothing obvious detected.

THE MEDICAL OFFICER REPORTED :
a)	Jockey S Khumalo was stood down after the running of this race with a suspected fracture of the wrist. Rule 25.12 was applied.
