Stipes Report
The start of this race was delayed due to the reason stated in the Starters' report below. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ONE SCOTCH (C Habib) and RIVER DANCE (*S Hlengwa) were stubborn to load. b) ROLLO THE VIKING (M Yeni) was slow into stride. c) DANUBE (M Thackeray) lost 1 length. d) FREDDY'S SLATER (N Patel) and ONE SCOTCH (C Habib) lost 2 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Jockey A Mgudlwa experienced difficulty restraining JP'S PALACE in the pull up area and thereafter returning to the parade ring. This resulted in a delay to the All Clear being given on time. b) FREDDY SLATER (N Patel) was hanging out throughout. c) The neck strap on REAL WAR (*B Plaatjies) became detached in the running. d) In view of the Starter's report with regard to RIVER DANCE (*S Hlengwa), this gelding's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and it is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 12.08.2024 to the 18.08.2024. RIVER DANCE may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer S H Ferrie was advised. (SL) e) LUNELUCK (S Veale), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S H Ferrie advised (DZ). Trainer S Ferrie was questioned regarding the improved performance of LUNELUCK in today's race as compared to this gelding's previous performance on the 29 June 2024 at Hollywoodbets Greyville Racecourse (Polytrack). Trainer Ferrie could offer no suitable explanation and the future performances of this gelding will be monitored. JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Nil.
