Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BREEDE BABY (S Veale) and SPIRIT PRINCESS (S Naidoo) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey M van Rensburg (TRIP TO BARBERTON) dropped his crop at approximately the 300m. b) RED MOON RISING (D Schwarz) was hanging inwards from the 500m to the 300m and was corrected. c) Jockey S Veale was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that as the rider of BREEDE BABY he misused his crop by striking BREEDE BABY more than 12 times (15) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Jockey S Veale signed an admission of guilt and was fined R7 500,00. d) MEENEERA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer JP Nel was advised.
