THE STARTER REPORTED: a) RUBY REBEL (+T Ncume) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Q FOR LOVE (+T Matsoele) raced green. b) BASINGSTOKE (+V Sithetho) shifted out away from the crop in the concluding stages. c) Shortly before the finish line, INTRO (+S Mkhumbuzi) was directed inwards away from the heels of Q FOR LOVE (+T Matsoele), which raced green. d) Work Rider J Horing was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he, as the rider of PERINI PALACE, misused his crop by striking this filly more than twelve times (15) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Work Rider J Horing signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in three (3) Work Rider races. Suspension dates: 29 August 2024, 5 September 2024 and 12 September 2024. e) Work Rider I Lukhele was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (Appendix E on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking SOMEDAY MAYBE forward of the saddle in the concluding stages. Work Rider I Lukhele signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in one (1) Work Rider race. Suspension date: 29 August 2024. f) PERINI PALACE (+J Horing), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer J A Visser advised (MduP). WORK RIDER CHANGES: a) PERINI PALACE was ridden by Work Rider J Horing (declared 19 August 2024 at 09H29). b) LUNAR RAINBOW was ridden by Work Rider G Dadamasi (declared 20 August 2024 at 08H47). c) BASINGSTOKE was ridden by Work Rider V Sithetho (declared 20 August 2024 at 12H08). Work Rider S Siphika was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the correct carded weight on BASINGSTOKE, or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with Trainer A P Peter, thereby necessitating a change of Rider.
