THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All riders were weighed out manually due to a network disruption. b) Due to the lengthy delay in the previous race, all riders were instructed to proceed directly to the start. c) At the 200m Jockey C Orffer (GLEE CLUB) hesitated with his riding when awkwardly placed between PRINCESS OF BAYEUX (O Noach), which shifted out slightly and was immediately corrected and LICKETY SPLIT (JP van der Merwe), which rolled out slightly. d) Jockey G Wright was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the carded weight on BORN READY, or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with the Trainer, resulting in a change of rider. Jockey G Wright signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1000.00. e) LICKETY SPLIT, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised.
