d)	Apprentice D B Geerthsen reported that he felt something amiss with BARZALONA in running and eased this gelding out of the race at approximately the 200m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
	Trainer J V A Strydom will be requested to report back on the condition of this gelding on his return to the stables.
e)	KING REGENT, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee M P Cloete, acting on behalf of Trainer G S Kotzen was advised. (SP)
