THE STARTER REPORTED:
a)	SWING UPON A STAR (C Maujean) jumped inwards leaving the stalls.	
b)	MERCANTOUR (C Habib) was slow into stride.	

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	The neck strap on FLASHY APACHE (N Klink) came loose and fell off at the 100m. 
b)	Jockey K Matsunyane reported that BINGWA made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. 		
c)	Jockey K Matsunyane was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (Appendix E read with Guideline 3 on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking BINGWA forward of the saddle in the concluding stages. 
Jockey K Matsunyane signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000.   
d)	KEY ELEMENT (P Mxoli), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
