Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CATCH THE TUNE (C Zackey) was nervous in the stalls. b) KING OF SEVILLE (*DB Geerthsen) jumped inwards. c) ALADO'S PRIDE (P Mxoli) jumped awkwardly and thereafter was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Approaching the 300m PAINITE (L Mxothwa) was awkwardly placed and had to be steadied behind the heels of ALADO'S PRIDE (P Mxoli), which shifted outwards and was corrected. Thereafter, PUERTO PLATA (ARG) (R Fourie) was carried outwards and made slight contact with ALADO'S PRIDE (P Mxoli), which shifted outwards at approximately the 200m. In this incident, HAROLD THE DUKE (S Khumalo) was carried outwards by PUERTO PLATA (ARG) (R Fourie). Jockey P Mxoli appeared before the Board and was advised to take stronger corrective measures to keep his mounts on a straight course in races. b) LIGHT WITHOUT (M van Rensburg) returned with a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended for a period of 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr M Bawden) c) DOWNING SEVEN, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer JVA Strydom was advised.
