Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) IGUGULETHU (C Zackey) was nervous in the stalls, was taken out and reloaded. b) MISTER SPEAKER (R Fourie) was restless in the stalls. c) BLUE PALACE (M van Rensburg) jumped awkwardly. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey M van Rensburg briefly lost his right-side stirrup iron when BLUE PALACE jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. b) SEE YOU IN A BIT (*N Nastili) was hanging in from the 400m. c) At approximately the 400m IGUGULETHU took an awkward stride and thereafter, Jockey C Zackey did not persevere with his riding from approximately the 200m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Trainer GD Smith was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this gelding on his return to the stables. d) WALK WITH ME, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SB Kotzen, acting on behalf of Trainer GS Kotzen, was advised.
