THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Leaving the 200m, SAINT BRIGID (A Andrews) had to ease slightly when close to the heels of HAMPSTEAD HEATH (G van Niekerk), which was hanging in from the 500m. b) At the 200m KAMAKAZI (A Domeyer) was steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of TOKYO PRINCESS (C Zackey), which rolled out and was immediately straightened. c) ETERNAL OPTIMIST (*S Sosibo) was hanging out and shifted out continually in the straight, without sufficient correction. Apprentice S Sosibo appeared before the Board and was advised to take stronger corrective measures to keep his mounts on a straight course in future engagements. d) Jockey G Wright's (PROTECT THE DREAM) crop was accidentally struck from his hand by the crop of Jockey C Zackey (TOKYO PRINCESS) at the 150m. e) Jockey JP van der Merwe reported that he felt something amiss with EUREKA DIAMOND. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. f) TOKYO PRINCESS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer L Gila was advised.
