Stipes Report
EN ROUTE TO THE START, WINGS WITHIN ME (S KHUMALO) LIFTED ITS LEFT FRONT SHOE WHICH WAS ATTENDED TO BY THE COURSE FARRIER. THIS CAUSED A DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CAPTAIN PEG (C Habib) was slow losing two lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 300m, BLUE HORIZON (K A Brewer) and WHERE'S THE PARTY (C Maujean) came together and brushed. b) Approaching the 200m, THERE SHE GOES (L Nhlapo) took an awkward stride. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. c) Leaving the 200m, WINGS WITHIN ME (S Khumalo), which had come to the end of its run was squeezed out when awkwardly placed between ICE STAR (G Lerena) and SEA ANEMONE (M van Rensburg), which shifted in away from the crop and was corrected. d) Jockey S Khumalo was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (Appendix E read with Guideline 3 on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking WINGS WITHIN ME forward of the saddle in the concluding stages. Jockey S Khumalo signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000. e) WHERE'S THE PARTY (C Maujean), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A P Peter advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) THERE SHE GOES examined post race, nothing obvious detected. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
