THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TOM'S ACT (C Maujean) lost 2 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) GLOBAL MOVEMENT (S Khumalo) was baulked for a clear run between the 450m and the 350m and thereafter was switched to the inside of ALLAROUNDTHEWORLD (GB) (A Mgudlwa) to continue its run. b) At the 200m DUKE OF AFRICA (M Thackeray) was carried in by GLOBAL MOVEMENT (S Khumalo) which was carried in by NIGHTJAR (C Zackey) which was hanging in badly from the 400m, proving difficult to assist, and shifted in. Assistant Trainer Gavin van Zyl was advised to take measures to improve NIGHTJAR's racing manners going forward. c) HIAWATHA GOLDBERG (M V'Rensburg) was hanging in from the 300m. d) In view of the performance of LADIES WORLD (M Yeni) (8.60 lengths, 25/2 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) AFRICAN DUSK (R A Venniker), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
