EN ROUTE TO THE START, GREEN SCEPTRE (K MATSUNYANE) LIFTED ITS LEFT FRONT SHOE WHICH WAS ATTENDED TO BY THE COURSE FARRIER. THIS CAUSED A DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LOVE TAP (J Penny) was stubborn loading. b) GIMME THE FLAME (R Danielson) reared in the stalls. c) COUNT YOUR CHANCES (C Maujean) refused to jump, losing many lengths. The starting stall certificate for this mare has been withdrawn. Trainer F Bronkhorst was advised (GT). d) CANTFOOLME (J R Syster) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) LOVE TAP (J Penny) stumbled shortly after the start. b) Approaching the 200m, ZOOMBOMBER (M van Rensburg) was steadied and directed outwards away from the heels of GIMME THE FLAME (R Danielson) to continue its run. c) Jockey R Danielson reported that GIMME THE FLAME did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. d) In view of the Starter's report with regard to COUNT YOUR CHANCES, this mare's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as she proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion on a Raceday. Suspension dates: 4 September 2024 to 10 September 2024. COUNT YOUR CHANCES may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer F Bronkhorst was advised. e) LOVE TAP (J Penny), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
