Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DI ROSA (JP van der Merwe) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) JET TO THE SUN (C Zackey) and FAIRFIELD (D Schwarz) were hanging out in the latter stages. b) Jockey JP van der Merwe reported that DI ROSA felt uncomfortable in its action and he did not persevere with his riding from the 300m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) Jockey C Zackey was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (Appendix E) in that he mis-used his crop by striking JET TO THE SUN forward of the saddle at approximately the 250m. Jockey C Zackey signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1 000.00. d) JET TO THE SUN, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer C Snaith, acting on behalf of Trainer SJ Snaith, was advised.
