THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SIGNALS (M Ntuli) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The saddle on CASTLETOWN (K Matsunyane) appeared to slip forward shortly after the start which resulted in the lead bag becoming dislodged at the 700m. Jockey K Matsunyane's equipment was checked by a member of the Stipendiary Board and found to be in good working order. The Clerk of Scales lodged an objection against CASTLETOWN in terms of NHA Rule 68.2.11 in that Jockey K Matsunyane weighed in 4,8 kg under the weight he weighed out at. After giving regard to the evidence, the objection was upheld and in terms of Rule 69.7, CASTLETOWN was disqualified. b) INVINCIBLE WARRIOR (K de Melo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S G Tarry advised (LN). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) SIGNALS cast its right front shoe in running. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: a) CASTLETOWN disqualified in terms of Rule 69.7.
