Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	GLOBETONIC (C Habib) and ARIVIDICIO (Y Ramzan) were nervous in the stalls.
b)	SINGLE FILE (S Khathi) and TO THE HILT (E Webber) were slow into stride.
	
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	MY AMI BEACH was selected for the taking of specimens for TCO2. testing. The first specimen revealed a level of over 35 TCO2. mmol/L. Trainer E Kaknis was advised that, in terms of the Procedure for Total Carbon Dioxide (TCO2) analysis on Raceday, a second blood specimen would be collected. Trainer E Kaknis was informed that the second blood specimen had revealed a level above the threshold of 37 mmol/L and that consequently MY AMI BEACH was scratched from this race in terms of the provisions of Rules 72.1.23; 4.2.14 and 4.2.18. (Withdrawn at 13h07, 20/1 in the betting). MY AMI BEACH was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer E Kaknis was advised (Dr E Reynders)
b)	Leaving the 200m SUN SPECTACULAR (*DB Geerthsen) had to be steadied and switched outward when awkwardly placed behind the heels of TO THE HILT (E Webber), which shifted out away from the crop.
c)	Jockey E Webber was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the 	crop) in that as the rider of TO THE HILT he misused his crop by striking TO THE HILT more than 12 	times (13) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Jockey E Webber signed 	an admission of guilt and was fined R2 000,00. 
d)	Jockey E Webber was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline 3 in Appendix E on 	the use of the crop) in that he mis-used his crop by striking TO THE HILT in front of the saddle whilst his crop 	hand was off the reins at the 200m. Jockey E Webber signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1 000.00.
e)	PEDRO, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer TJ Laing was advised. (LM)
f)	FOUR JACKS, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer TJ Laing, acting on behalf of Trainer SJ Snaith, was advised. (LM)
