THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	SAN PEDRO (S Veale) was restless in the stalls.
b)	OLIVER (G van Niekerk), ZOOMIE (L Mxothwa) and CHARLIE CROKER (A Andrews) jumped slow, losing one length.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	VOORLOOPERTJIE (C Zackey) pulled hard in the early and middle stages.
b)	Leaving the 100m SAN PEDRO (S Veale) was carried outwards by VOORLOOPERTJIE (C Zackey), which shifted out away from OLIVER (G van Niekerk) and was immediately straightened.
c)	Jockeys D Ashby and A Andrews reported that GRINKOV and CHARLIE CROKER respectively did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these geldings. 
d)	Jockey G van Niekerk was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (Appendix E) in that he mis-used his crop by striking OLIVER forward of the saddle in the latter stages. Jockey G van Niekerk signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1 000.00.
e)	OLIVER, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AN Marcus was advised. (MB)
