THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LEGENDARY (J Gates) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) ENFORCE LAW (C Habib) was slow losing one length. c) BORN ATLANTIC (K Matsunyane), MEGAHIT (M Yeni) and PENNSYLVANIA (G Lerena) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) OKLAHOMA TWISTER (Wes Marwing) and GOOD TO GREAT (L Nhlapo) pulled hard in the early stages. b) GOOD TO GREAT (L Nhlapo) hung out in the concluding stages. c) In the concluding stages, ENFORCE LAW (C Habib) was directed outwards away from the heels of KAROO GOLD (D Schwarz) to continue its run. d) Jockey C Zackey reported that he felt something amiss with CHARIOT OF FIRE in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning CHARIOT OF FIRE, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer M N Houdalakis was advised. f) GOOD TO GREAT (L Nhlapo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
