THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FUSHIMI INARI (C Habib) was restless in the stalls, jumped awkwardly and lost two lengths. Assistant Trainer N Titise, acting on behalf of Trainer S T Pettigrew, was advised to reschool this gelding prior to his next engagement (GT). THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey P Strydom did not persevere with his riding on DUAL PROPHECY, which hung in from the 500m, took an awkward stride and ducked out sharply at the 300m. Thereafter, Jockey P Strydom reported that he felt something amiss with gelding in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Trainer J A Soma was requested to report back to the Stipendiary Board on the condition of DUAL PROPHECY on return to stables. b) EIGER SANCTION (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee P de Palma, acting on behalf of Trainer S J Gray, was advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None.
