THE STARTER REPORTED: a) YOU WIN AGAIN (R Fourie) was restless in the stalls, reared and was taken out for a Veterinary examination. During the Veterinary examination, this mare broke loose, bolted the course and was withdrawn, causing a delay. b) UNITED EXPRESS (K Minnie) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The start of this race was delayed by five minutes to allow the betting public time to restructure their bets. b) KILMONIVAIG proved difficult proceeding to the start and as a consequence, Apprentice DB Geerthsen dismounted and led this mare. Trainer TJ Laing was advised that should this mare behave in a similar manner in future engagements, it may be suspended. c) Shortly after the start UNITED EXPRESS (K Minnie) fly-jumped, losing ground and thereafter, raced detached from the field and compounded in the straight. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. d) Jockey D Schwarz reported that he felt something amiss with TREASURE HUNT. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. e) In view of the report from the Starter regarding YOU WIN AGAIN (R Fourie), this mare's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended for 14 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable to load with a companion. (Suspension dates: 28/09/2024 to 11/10/2024 inclusive). YOU WIN AGAIN may not be presented for re-passing during this period. f) RED SASH, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer TJ Laing was advised.
