Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FIRE FORCE (*K J Lihaba) lost three lengths and thereafter was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) At approximately the 1400m, the left side stirrup iron on EXODUS SONG (*J Botes) became detached. This resulted in Apprentice J Botes becoming unbalanced and he was unable to fully assist this filly in the running. As a consequence, EXODUS SONG raced wide of the field. b) Shortly after entering the final straight, RASTIGNAC (K Matsunyane) was switched to the inside of ARJUNA (*B Plaatjies) to obtain a clear run. Thereafter, at the 200m, RASTIGNAC (K Matsunyane) was switched to the outside of NEW FRONTIER (S Veale) to continue its run. c) In view of the Starter's report with regard to FIRE FORCE (*K J Lihaba), this gelding's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and it is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 28.09.2024 to the 04.10.24. FIRE FORCE may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer G B Puller was advised. (SN) d) When questioned with regard to the improved performance of RASTIGNAC (K Matsunyane), the winner, compared to this gelding's previous performances, Trainer R Klaasen stated that this was RASTIGNAC's first run on the poly surface and that, in her opinion, attributed to the improvement shown. The Board noted this explanation. e) RASTIGNAC (K Matsunyane), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer R Klaasen advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Nil.
