THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ROYAL SWAN MASTER (S Veale) lost three lengths. b) TROIS TROIS QUATRE (G Lerena) lost two lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Shortly before entering the final straight, ROYAL SWAN MASTER (S Veale) briefly raced in restricted room between BANZAI PIPELINE (A Mgudlwa) and TROIS TROIS QUATRE (G Lerena). b) TROIS TROIS QUATRE (G Lerena) was hanging in from the 350m. c) Jockey A Mgudlwa signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, (Appendix E ; Guideline M), in that as the rider of BANZAI PIPELINE, he mis-used his crop by striking this gelding more than 12 times (13) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R3000 was imposed. d) POSITIVE ATTITUDE (R A Venniker), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D S Bosch advised (NS).
