THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Shortly after the start, the neck strap on BURNING MAN (C Dicken) became detached. b) POWER STAR (R Venniker) over-raced in the middle stages. c) In view of the performances of BURNING MAN (C Dicken) (10.95 lengths, 2/1 in the betting), BLAZING LIGHT (S Veale) (12.05 lengths, 17/2 in the betting) and TIN CUP (S Moodley) (33.75 lengths, 16/1 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) Apprentice D Pillay (FINAL DESTINY) completed a satisfactory qualifying ride. e) FIELD MARSHAL (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
