EN ROUTE TO THE START, JOCKEY M VAN RENSBURG WAS DISLODGED FROM HAWKBILL, WHICH MADE CONTACT WITH THE CHUTE RAIL ENTERING THE INSIDE TRACK AND BOLTED TO THE BACK PARADE RING. THIS GELDING WAS TAKEN IN HAND, EXAMINED BY THE VETERINARY SURGEON, DECLARED FIT TO RACE, REUNITED WITH THE RIDER AND DISPATCHED TO THE START. THIS CAUSED A DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PRINCEOFGREEN (M K Katjedi) was stubborn loading. b) APACHE SON (P Mxoli) jumped awkwardly, losing two lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In view of the performance of APACHE SON (P Mxoli), which jumped awkwardly and lost two lengths, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. b) KING'S EXPRESS (P Strydom) did not persevere with his riding in the concluding stages. Thereafter, Jockey P Strydom reported that this gelding took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) ARGO ALLEY (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S J Gray advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: None.
