THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Shortly after the start, HOT STRIKE (S Moodley) was squeezed out between PETIT VERDOT (S Hlengwa) which jumped awkwardly in and QONDANEKUKHANYENI (A Mgudlwa) which jumped out leaving the starting stalls. b) PETIT VERDOT (S Hlengwa) threw its head up shortly after the start. Thereafter, this mare commenced to over-race in the early and middle stages. c) GIVERS GRACE (M Yeni) was hanging out throughout and raced wide around the turn. d) VIHAAN'S QUEEN (M V'Rensburg), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
