THE STARTER REPORTED: a) AS FATE HAS IT (C Zackey) kicked the back gates in the starting stalls. b) CHERE FOR ME (D Schwarz) jumped slow, losing one length. c) STRANGE MAGIC (R Fourie) and SUN SPECTACULAR (*N Nastili) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) BACK FOR MORE was hanging in badly throughout, which resulted in Jockey L Mxothwa not being able to fully assist his mount. b) Jockey C Zackey reported that AS FATE HAS IT did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Trainer GD Smith was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables. c) Jockey R Fourie reported that STRANGE MAGIC did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare.
