Stipes Report

THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO THE DELAY IN THE PREVIOUS RACE.

THE STARTER REPORTED:
a)	GRAND CRESCENDO (K A Brewer) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls.
b)	DANTONFROMSANDTON (M K Katjedi) was slow into stride.	

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	At approximately the 400m, MAIN DEFENDER (G Lerena) and JOKER MAN (C Habib) came together and bumped on a number of occasions when awkwardly placed between BARBARESCO (R Danielson), which was directed outwards away from the heels of GIMMEANOTHERCHANCE (C Zackey) and GRAND CRESCENDO (K A Brewer), which hung in badly from the 500m. This incident led to JOKER MAN (C Habib) being squeezed out and GRAND CRESCENDO (K A Brewer) being unbalanced and having its hindquarters turned outwards. When tacking into account GRAND CRESCENDO'S (K A Brewer) recent history of hanging in races, Trainer C Dawson was advised to take the necessary corrective measures to improve this gelding's racing manners.
b)	In view of the performance of UNZEN (D Schwarz), which over-raced and raced wide around the turn, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
c)	In view of the performance of MAIN DEFENDER (G Lerena), (distance 4,70 lengths, betting 14/10), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.	
d)	Jockey P Strydom reported that ZINOVI took no interest in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
e)	BACK IN BUSINESS (R A Venniker), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
