The start of this race was delayed due to the 30-minute interval between races. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LITTLE CRACKER (S Veale) jumped awkwardly and lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Shortly after the start MASTER DU ROUVRAY (S Moodley) was squeezed out between GRAND FORCE (S Hlengwa) which jumped out and DORSET (R A Venniker). b) GRAND FORCE (S Hlengwa) hung in badly from the 400m and had to be corrected on a number of occasions to avoid making contact with the inside running rail. c) DORSET (R A Venniker) hung in from the 350m. d) LITTLE CRACKER (S Veale) raced green. e) BARRY DU GROND (D Daniels), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer R A Hill advised (SP).
