Stipes Report
The start of this race was delayed due to the reasons stated in the Starter's report below. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) During the loading process THE GHOST (C Habib) rushed the front gates. This filly was removed from the starting stalls, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and subsequently withdrawn. SAFE AND SOUND (K Matsunyane) was also removed and examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) CARE FORGOT (R A Venniker) over-raced in the early stages. b) Jockey C Zackey reported that PROM QUEEN took no interest in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) In view of the Starter's report with regard to THE GHOST (C Habib), this filly's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and it is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 07.10.2024 to the 13.07.2024. THE GHOST may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer P V Lafferty will be advised. d) CARE FORGOT (R A Venniker), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer B D Botes advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Nil. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) PROM QUEEN : Nothing obvious detected. b) SHE'S A MACHINE : Returned post-race having cast the right front shoe. SCRATCHINGS : a) SPIRIT OF LEVANA : Abnormal blood count (Trainer - 05.10.2024/15h14). Rule 53.5 applies. b) THE GHOST : Head injury (Withdrawn by the Veterinary Surgeon at 15h37, 6/1 in the betting). Rule 53.5 applies. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: a) None.
