THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	Fair start.	

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	At the 150m OZARK (R Fourie), which was initially directed to the outside of FLIGHT DISPLAY (G Wright), had to be steadied for a number of strides when unable to secure clear running between FLIGHT DISPLAY (G Wright), which shifted out marginally and STATE CAPITOL (D Schwarz), which rolled in. Thereafter, OZARK (R Fourie) was directed inwards and away from the heels of FLIGHT DISPLAY (G Wright). Jockey R Fourie, after reviewing this incident, took no action.
b)	Jockey S Veale was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) 	in that as the rider of GOLDEN GREY he misused his crop by striking GOLDEN GREY more than 12 times (14) 	which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Jockey S Veale signed an admission of 	guilt and was fined R8 000,00. 
c)	Apprentice I Taka was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that as the rider of TOTHEMOONANDBACK he misused his crop by striking TOTHEMOONANDBACK more than 12 times (13) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Apprentice I Taka signed an admission of guilt and was fined R2 000,00.
d)	FLIGHT DISPLAY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer PAW Botha was advised. (TJ)
