Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	During the loading process QUATERMAIN (C Maujean), which reared on a number of occasions, was released from the stalls, examined by the course Veterinary Surgeon, passed suitable to race and reloaded. Thereafter, QUATERMAIN (C Maujean) reared as the start was effected and, as a consequence, was slow away, losing two lengths.
b)	DIWALI ROCKET (N Klink) was stubborn loading and thereafter jumped slow, losing one length.
c)	ROCK OF BISMANTOVA (M van Rensburg) reared in the stalls and jumped slow, losing one length.
d)	ARGO ALLEY (M Yeni) reared in the stalls.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	From an inside draw, ARGO ALLEY (M Yeni) was directed inwards and raced in isolation parallel to the inside running rail.
b)	JURY'S OUT (G Lerena) was baulked for a run from the 400m to the 200m.
c)	Jockeys K Matsunyane and D Schwarz reported that they felt something amiss with TSAR BOMBA and FIRE 'N FLAMES respectively. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these geldings.
d)	In view of the report from the Starter regarding QUATERMAIN (C Maujean), Trainer R Klaasen will be advised 	to have this gelding re-schooled prior to his next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10.
e)	ARGO ALLEY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Gray was advised. (MdP)
