Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	CAPE FLOWER (+A Mbumbulu) and DOUBLE TRADE (+H Tsewu) were stubborn loading.
b)	STRING OF LIGHTS (+A Gwadiso) was nervous in the stalls.
c)	MACARINA MAMBO (+TG Mogalatladi) was nervous in the stalls and jumped slow, losing one length.
d)	FARAWAY STAR (+M Khaka) jumped awkwardly, losing one length.
	
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	STRING OF LIGHTS (+A Gwadiso) recorded a TCO2 concentration of more than 36 mmol/L. Trainer DA 	McKenzie was advised that a second blood specimen would be collected. This specimen was of an 	acceptable TCO2 level.
b)	DOUBLE TRADE (+H Tsewu) jumped awkwardly and took an awkward stride shortly after the start.
c)	Leaving the 300m,the right-side stirrup leather on the saddle of SERENDIPITOUS broke, which resulted in 	Work Rider E Thuthu becoming unbalanced and being unable to assist his mount to the finish.
d)	Leaving the 250m, Work Rider S Watson (MISS PRIOR), under the impression that he was sufficiently 	clear of the balance of the field to win this race, stopped riding his mount vigorously from approximately the 	200m. However, he noted that the runners on his inside were making up ground and he then attempted to ride 	his mount vigorously from the 50m to the finish.
	Work Rider S Watson was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.2 in that he rode MISS PRIOR 	in an 	incompetent and unprofessional manner. Work Rider S Watson signed an Admission of Guilt and is 	suspended from riding in three (3) Work Rider races. (Dates to be 	advised)
e)	STRING OF LIGHTS (+A Gwadiso) was hanging out from the 200m.
f)	Work Rider TG Mogalatladi reported that he felt something amiss with MACARINA MAMBO and did not persevere with his riding from the 250m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare.
	MACARINA MAMBO (+TG Mogalatladi) returned with a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced 	pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended for a period of 60 days from racing in any race under the 	jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. g)	DOUBLE TRADE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer JVA Strydom was advised. (LM)
