Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	POISE PANACHE (M van Rensburg) and TAKE YOUR TIME (*T Mayhew) were stubborn loading.
b)	CARVED IN STONE (*N Nastili) stood awkwardly in the stalls and jumped slow, losing three lengths.
	
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	RAINBOW RIVER (M Yeni) proved difficult proceeding to the start and had to be led riderless by a Handler 	from the 1300m. Trainer K Mitchley was advised that should this filly behave in a similar manner in future 	engagements, she may be suspended.
b)	FIRE FESTIVAL (*DB Geerthsen) was hanging in in the straight.
c)	CARVED IN STONE, which jumped awkwardly, attempted to make a u-turn shortly after the start, was corrected by Apprentice N Nastili and raced detached from the field for approximately 300m.
d)	POISE PANACHE (M van Rensburg) raced wide without cover around the bend and into the straight.
e)	TAKE YOUR TIME (*T Mayhew) was hanging out on the bend.
f)	RUBY CLAIRE (C Zackey) was hanging in from the 400m.
g)	POISE PANACHE (M van Rensburg) shifted sharply inwards away from the crop at the 400m.
h)	GENTEEL (D Schwarz) had to be switched out to obtain clear running at approximately the 200m.
i)	Jockey S Khathi reported that MILLION REASONS did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
j)	Jockey C Zackey did not ride RUBY CLAIRE vigorously to the finish line. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
k)	In view of the report from the Starter regarding CARVED IN STONE (*N Nastili), Trainer E Kaknis will be 	advised to have this mare re-schooled prior to her next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10.
l)	RAINBOW RIVER, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Mitchley was advised. (LM)
