THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	SINGLE FILE (*N Nastili) jumped slow, losing two lengths.
b)	HAWK CIRCLE (M Yeni) jumped slow, losing one length.
	
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	FINAL EDITION (R Fourie) recorded a TCO2 concentration of more than 36 mmol/L. Trainer AC Greeff was advised that a second blood specimen would be collected. This specimen was of an acceptable TCO2 level.
b)	EMPIRE BLUE (K Minnie) over raced in the early and middle stages.
c)	SINGLE FILE (*N Nastili) had to be switched out to obtain clear running at approximately the 250m.
d)	EL ROMIACHI (*T Mayhew) was hanging in from the 250m.
e)	Jockey C Zackey reported that FOUR JACKS did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
f)	In view of the performance of FINAL EDITION (R Fourie) (Betting 9/2; Distance 10.10 lengths), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
	Trainer AC Greeff was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this gelding on his return to the stables.
g)	Jockey C Maujean was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline 3 in Appendix E on 	the use of the crop) in that he mis-used his crop by striking TIMBAVATI RIVER in front of the saddle with his 	hand off the reins shortly before the finish. Jockey C Maujean signed an admission of guilt and was fined 	R1000.00.
h)	TIMBAVATI RIVER, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer TJ Laing was advised. (LM)
i)	FOUR JACKS, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith was advised. (LM)
