Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED A) ACT OF THUNDER was stubborn loading. B) TRUMPS EXPRESS kicked the back gate in the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) There was no available footage from the back straight camera due to the camera man being unable to take up his position in the tower due to a swarm of bees accumulating in this area. B) BROADWAY (S Khathi) over-raced in the early and middle stages. C) Approaching the 200m DAWN RAIDER (M V'Rensburg) which was closing the race off strongly and KING OF LUV (G Cheyne) were unbalanced when they bumped, when carried outwards by MY LORD AND MASTER (T Gould) which made its run on the outside of BROADWAY and then commenced to hang outwards. Jockey T Gould appeared before the Board regarding this incident and was advised to take appropriate measures to straighten his mounts in similar circumstances. D) Jockey R Munger reported that he felt something amiss with ACT OF THUNDER in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. E) The winner NOTORIX was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer J P Nel advised (LM). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES A) CASHING IN Jockey J Mphanya replaced Apprentice K A Brewer (15:50 - 14/03/2022). B) MY LORD AND MASTER Jockey T Gould replaced Jockey R Khathi (14:34 - 14/03/2022). C) KNAVE OF DIAMINDS Jockey C Habib replaced Jockey L Mxothwa (08:42 - 15/03/2022). D) BROADWAY raced equipped with a tongue tie (08:41 - 15/03/2022). E) CAPTAINS WALK raced equipped with a tongue tie (09:06 - 14/03/2022). THERE WERE NO RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED A) DAWN RAIDER brush wound right hind. B) ACT OF THUNDER abnormal respiratory noise (advised by Assistant Trainer that the gelding had laryngoplasty previously). C) MY LORD AND MASTER scalp wound left hind. D) KING OF LUV stirrup rub right hand side. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
