Stipes Report
DURING THE LOADING PROCESS, GOLD FEVER (P MXOLI) BECAME RESTLESS AND REARED OVER IN THE STALLS. THIS GELDING WAS REMOVED FROM THE STALLS, EXAMINED BY THE COURSE VETERINARY SURGEON, AND SUBSEQUENTLY SCRATCHED. THIS CAUSED A DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GOLD FEVER (P Mxoli) was restless and reared over in the stalls. The starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. Trainer P F Matchett was advised (PHvdW). b) HAT FURIOUS was restless in the stalls. c) GOLD RUSH KID (L Nhlapo), GREAT NOTION (S Moodley) and WARNING SOUND (C Zackey) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) TAKEYOURBESTSHOT (*T Mayhew) over-raced in the early and middle stages. b) SKY PILLAR ROCK (M van Rensburg) hung in from the 600m. c) SPIRITO SELVAGGIO (K Matsunyane) hung in from 500 to the 300m. d) In view of the Starter's report with regard to GOLD FEVER, this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion. Suspension dates: 13 October 2024 to 19 October 2024. GOLD FEVER may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer P F Matchett was advised. e) CHOISAANADA (R Danielson), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer D Mulligan, acting on behalf of Trainer E Verdonese, was advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None.
