Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) WEARINGOFTHEGREEN (IRE) (C Zackey), MOUNTAIN HIGH (P Strydom) and ONO NO KOMACHI (*T Mayhew) were slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 800m, the saddle on JILTED (K Matsunyane) slipped forward (as confirmed by video evidence) which resulted in a lead bag being dislodged at approximately the 600m and, thereafter, a saddle sponge was dislodged at approximately the 300m. Jockey K Matsunyane's equipment was checked by a member of the Stipendiary Board and found to be in good working order. The Clerk of Scales lodged an objection against JILTED in terms of Rule 68.2.11 in that Jockey K Matsunyane weighed in 1,4kg under the weight at which he was declared out at. After giving regard to the evidence, the objection was upheld and in terms of Rule 69.7, JILTED was disqualified. b) TIK TOK ADDICTION (P Mxoli) hung in from the 400m. c) In the concluding stages, ONO NO KOMACHI (*T Mayhew) was switched in to continue its run, d) COCOMELON (S Moodley), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S G Tarry advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) COCOMELON raced without cheek pieces (declared 9 October 2024 at 13H39). THE VETERINARY SURGEON HAD NO REPORTS. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: a) JILTED disqualified in terms of Rule 69.7.
