THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BEATING WINGS (D De Gouveia) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) WINCHESTER MANSION (P Strydom) over-raced in the early and middle stages and thereafter, Jockey P Strydom did not persevere with his riding from the 300m. Jockey P Strydom reported that this gelding took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. b) PUERTO MANZANO (ARG) (*T Mayhew) hung in from the 400m to the 200m. c) BEATING WINGS (D De Gouveia), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
