The start of this race was delayed due to COLORADO CREEK (C Zackey) proving stubborn proceeding to the start.

THE STARTER REPORTED:  
a)	WEST SIDE STORY (*K J Lihaba) was restless in the stalls. 
b)	GRAPE SHOT (S Moodley) and MAGICAL VIEW (T Godden) lost 1 length.
c)	 SUNSHINE DAY (N Patel) lost 4 lengths. Trainer M J Odendaal was advised to re-school this filly.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a)	COLORADO CREEK (C Zackey) proved stubborn proceeding to the start and had to be led by a handler. Trainer S Ngcobo was advised that should this filly behave in a similar manner in the future, it may be suspended. 
b)	As the start was effected SUNSHINE DAY (N Patel) threw its head down and leant on the back gates and thereafter lost 4 lengths. A race review was called into the start of this Race, pertaining to SUNSHINE DAY (N Patel) in stall gate 9.  After viewing the start from the various angles, it was established that as the start was effected SUNSHINE DAY (N Patel) became restless, threw its head down and leant back on the starting stall gates. It was further established that this filly was not impeded by a handler or a faulty starting stall mechanism. Therefore SUNSHINE DAY (N Patel) was declared a runner and no further action was taken. 
c)	MAGICAL VIEW (T Godden) was hanging in, in the concluding stages. 
d)	Jockey M Yeni reported that FRENCH PRINCESS did not stride out freely in the concluding stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. 
e)	SHANTA'S PRIDE (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P B Muscutt advised (NS).
f)	WEST SIDE STORY (*K J Lihaba), unplaced, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D C Howells advised (DZ).
JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES :
a)	GRAPE SHOT raced fitted with a tongue tie (advised 09.10.2024/09h20).
