Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ROYAL DAWN (D Schwarz) was stubborn loading, causing a delay. b) BREAKFAST RUN (M Mjoka) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start GOOD SHINE (R Fourie) was brushed inwards and then had to be steadied when close to the heels of ELSINORE (C Zackey). b) PAPILLON BLU (K Steyn) raced wide without cover in the early stages. c) After initially being directed towards the outside of the track upon entering the straight, ELSINORE (C Zackey) shifted out away from the crop at the 250m and thereafter commenced to hang out until the finish. d) PAPILLON BLU (K Steyn) shifted in continually away from the crop between the 200m and the finish. Jockey K Steyn appeared before the Board and was advised to take measures to keep his mounts on a straight course in future. e) In the concluding stages, Jockey R Fourie was unable to ride GOOD SHINE to the finish when awkwardly placed close to the heels of PAPILLON BLU (K Steyn). f) In view of the report from the Starter regarding ROYAL DAWN (D Schwarz), this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as he proves to be tractable to load with a companion. (Suspension dates: 20/10/2024 to 26/10/2024 inclusive). ROYAL DAWN may not be presented for re-passing during this period. g) SHIPINDANI, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer WA Nel was advised.
