Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LUCE VERDE (M Mjoka) and ASPECT (S Veale) were restless in the stalls. b) INNAMORARE (R Fourie) was restless in the stalls and jumped awkwardly, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start TOUT A FAIT (A Andrews) was squeezed out between OLIVER (G van Niekerk) and WYLIE RILEY (K Steyn), which took an awkward stride leaving the stalls and shifted inwards. b) Jockey A Andrews (TOUT A FAIT) dropped his right-side rein at the 200m, which he only regained at the finish. c) LUCE VERDE (M Mjoka) returned with a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended for a period of 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr E Reynders) d) Jockey S Veale was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that as the rider of ASPECT he misused his crop by striking ASPECT more than 12 times (13) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Jockey S Veale signed an admission of guilt and was fined R3000,00. e) OLIVER, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AN Marcus was advised.
