THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) MAGMA MAGIC (M Thackeray) over-raced in the early and middle stages. b) I AM CLASSY (R A Venniker) hung in from the 250m. c) MAGMA MAGIC (M Thackeray) and LAVA BURST (*S Sosibo) came together and brushed in the concluding stages. Thereafter MAGMA MAGIC (M Thackery) was steadied when close to the heels of FIRELIGHTER (N Patel) shortly before the finish. d) BANDMASTER (M Yeni) hung in, in the concluding stages. e) Assistant Trainer J Buckler acting on behalf of Trainer G S Kotzen signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 8.3.1 in that he failed to ensure that the owner's colours were available for PRICELESS PEARL. Accordingly, a warning was issued. f) BRAVE BOMBER (T Godden), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
