THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TARTAN QUEEN (C Zackey) jumped inwards. b) NOODSBERG (K Matsunyane) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) GIMMETHELIMELIGHT recorded a TCO2 concentration of more than 36 mmol/L. Trainer K Mitchley was advised that a second blood specimen would be collected. This specimen was of an acceptable TCO2 level. b) BURN BRIGHT recorded a TCO2 concentration of more than 36 mmol/L. Stable Employee Z Xamle, acting on behalf of Trainer SJ Snaith, was advised that a second blood specimen would be collected. This specimen was of an acceptable TCO2 level. c) CACAU SPIRIT (C Habib) over raced in the early and middle stages. d) GENTEEL (D Schwarz) over raced in the middle stages. e) Jockey M Yeni reported that GIMMETHELIMELIGHT coughed in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. GIMMETHELIMELIGHT (M Yeni) returned with a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended for a period of 120 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1.
