THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) BLUE HOLLY (D Schwarz) was buffeted between FLOWERBOMB (*DB Geerthsen) and ELLORIX (R Fourie), which jumped inwards sharply shortly after the start. Thereafter FLOWERBOMB (*DB Geerthsen) made contact with ISN'T SHE BONNY (M Yeni). b) An Inquiry will be held into the reason SYMBOL OF LOVE (S Khathi) had to be switched out to obtain clear running at the 300m. c) EUROPEAN SUMMER (E Webber) shifted out away from the crop at the 250m. d) BLUE HOLLY (D Schwarz) shifted out away from the crop from the 200m. e) Jockey S Veale reported that SUMMER ODYSSEY made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Trainer AC Greeff was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables. f) Jockey X Ndlovu (LILY OF THE NILE) appeared before the Board and was advised that his use of the crop in the home straight had come under notice. He was informed that the Stewards had reason to draw his attention to his use of the crop above shoulder height in the recent past and should he not correct his use of the crop in this regard, he would be sanctioned accordingly. g) Trainer DA McKenzie was charged with a contravention of Rule 11.2.8 in that he presented FLOWERBOMB incorrectly equipped in the parade ring. Trainer DA McKenzie signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R250.00 h) ELLORIX, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised.
