THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PANZANELLA (G Behr) and CALL IT FATE (C Zackey) jumped awkwardly. b) ROCKET GIRL (R Khathi) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The saddle on TREASURE HUNT (K Steyn) slipped back shortly after the start. This was confirmed by the Stipendiary Board. b) PANZANELLA (G Behr) proved difficult to settle in the early and middle stages. c) Approaching the 300m HAMMIE'S FAN (G Cheyne) was awkwardly placed on the outside of CALL IT FATE (C Zackey). d) Leaving the 100m PEUT ETRE MOI (R Fourie) was carried out by TREASURE HUNT which shifted out continually from the 150m. Jockey K Steyn appeared before the Board and was advised to take the necessary corrective measures to keep his mounts on a straight course e) EVERGLADES (G van Niekerk) returned suffering from a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended, for a period of 120 days, from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr J Batt) f) PEUT ETRE MOI, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised.
