THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FIRST MASTERPIECE (G Wright) was stubborn loading and thereafter was slow into stride. b) JOU LEKKER DING (S Veale) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) BABELICIOUS was selected for the taking of specimens for TCO2. testing. The first specimen revealed a level of over 36 TCO2. mmol/L. Trainer C Bass-Robinson was advised that, in terms of the Procedure for Total Carbon Dioxide (TCO2) analysis on Raceday, a second blood specimen would be collected. Trainer C Bass-Robinson was informed that the second blood specimen had revealed a level above the threshold of 38 mmol/L and that consequently BABELICIOUS was scratched from this race in terms of the provisions of Rules 72.1.23; 4.2.14 and 4.2.18. (Withdrawn at 16h17, 9/4 in the betting). BABELICIOUS was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
