THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO THE TONGUE TIE ON LUCKY LAD (C ZACKEY) HAVING TO BE REFITTED AT THE START. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PURE PREDATOR (R Danielson) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) LUCKY LAD (C Zackey), WILLIAM ROBERTSON (*T Mayhew) and CAPTAIN PEG (P Mxoli) hung in from the 200m. b) Jockey C Zackey was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (Appendix E read with Guideline 3 on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking LUCKY LAD forward of the saddle in the concluding stages. Jockey C Zackey signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000. c) WILLIAM ROBERTSON (*T Mayhew), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee F Naude, acting on behalf of Trainer C Spies, was advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) WILLIAM ROBERTSON: Apprentice T Mayhew weighed out at 54,3kg, only claiming 1kg of his 2,5kg apprentice allowance as declared. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON HAD NO REPORTS.
