Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	ANGEL'S OASIS (JP van der Merwe) was restless in the stalls.
b)	UBERMENSCH (G Wright) was restless in the stalls, jumped awkwardly outwards and made contact with LATE DECEMBER (G van Niekerk).
c)	BOUNCEBACK (R Fourie) and SCOTTISH KISS (S Veale) jumped slow, losing one length.
d)	TENPENNY (JP van der Merwe) jumped slow, losing two lengths and thereafter, was slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	Approaching the turn at the 1100m UBERMENSCH (G Wright), which refused to settle in the early stages, commenced to hang out and failed to negotiate the turn. As a consequence, the bit pulled through this colt's mouth, which then raced very wide for the remainder of the turn and into the straight. Thereafter, Jockey G Wright dismounted at approximately the 200m as the bridle had slipped to one side. The racing manners of this colt were brought to Trainer AE Sands attention, who will report back on the condition of this colt and has undertaken to change the equipment used on this colt, should it be necessary.
b)	MAJOR MASTER, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Bass-Robinson was advised. (WM)
