THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ETHEREAL VIEW (T Godden) and PINK DIAMOND (A Mgudlwa) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Shortly after the start PINK DIAMOND (A Mgudlwa) and SPRING KISS (R A Venniker) were tightened for galloping room between GELSOMINA (K Matsunyane) and IDEAL GIFT (D Daniels) which jumped out. As a result PINK DIAMOND (A Mgudlwa) lost position. b) GELSOMINA (K Matsunyane) and THE QUEEN BEE (C Habib) over-raced in the early stages. c) Approaching the 300m IDEAL GIFT (D Daniels) was carried out marginally by BORN READY (M Yeni) which rolled out. Thereafter IDEAL GIFT (D Daniels) was tightened and steadied for a number of strides between BORN READY (M Yeni) which rolled out marginally and THE QUEEN BEE (C Habib) which rolled in marginally. d) At the 200m IDEAL GIFT (D Daniels) was switched to the outside of THE QUEEN BEE (C Habib) to continue its run. e) In view of the performance of GELSOMINA (K Matsunyane) (12.05 lengths, 25/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) ETHEREAL VIEW (T Godden), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
