THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO A TECHNICAL PROBLEM WITH THE HAWK-EYE SYSTEM IN THE BOARDROOM. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LADY OF MEMPHIS (K A Brewer) was stubborn loading and thereafter jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) RADIANT HEAT (*T Mayhew) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. c) TOUCH OF HEAVEN (M van Rensburg) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) SHESAROCKET (G Lerena) raced green. b) Shortly after the start, SHESAROCKET (G Lerena) was bumped by LADY OF MEMPHIS (K A Brewer), which jumped outwards sharply leaving the stalls. As a consequence, TOUCH OF HEAVEN (M van Rensburg) was steadied and directed inwards away from the heels of LADY OF MEMPHIS (K A Brewer). c) FLYING SOLO (C Habib) hung in in the concluding stages. d) In view of the performance of MILO'S MILLIONAIRE (C Zackey), (distance 7,25 lengths, betting 9/4), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Jockey C Maujean reported that WINTER IN PARIS made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) LADY OF MEMPHIS (K A Brewer), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M N Houdalakis advised (MduP).
